Mumford & Sons

The hype of No Doubt releasing their first album in a decade wasn’t enough to stop Mumford & Sons from totally owning the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. The band’s new set, Babel, sold a whopping 600,000 copies in its first week out.

The huge sales sum gives Babel the best debut sales week of all of 2012 so far, crushing its closest competition, Justin Bieber‘s Believe, which brought in 374,000 copies in its debut week.

Far behind Babel is the new set by Green Day, ¡Uno! The set, which was released just a week after frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had an on-stage meltdown at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and subsequently entered rehab to treat his substance abuse problem, sold 139,000 copies in its first week.

Back to No Doubt, the foursome’s latest, Push And Shove, starts at 115,000 copies sold.
